By Referral Only?

I’ve been in the real estate world for about 5 1/2 years and I’ve always wondered what “By Referral Only” actually meant. Well this morning I found out. One of my colleagues called me up early this morning and told me there was a gaggle of Real Estate agents meeting at the Scottsdale Hilton for a meeting of some kind. This was only about 5 minutes from my house, so I decided to go down there and see what was happening.

By Referral OnlyLow and behold it was a “By Referral Only” mini session. In other words, they were trying to sell these agents on their upcoming conference in Las Vegas. The room was packed with about 250 agents. I had to stand in the back and watch the speaker razzle dazzle the audience with his knowledge about what agents are doing wrong in their business.

Their lessons were very important ones for any business. I quickly realized they weren’t teaching agents how to be agents, but rather teaching them how to be focused business people. There seemed to be more lessons in business than there were in real estate. In fact, I believe any small business owner would get a benefit out of their sessions. Especially if they’re struggling to grow their business and find their focus.

After standing around for a while I decided to move outside and talk to some of their staff about the full package of what they offer. Turns out they charge $998 to attend their “Main Event” 3 day conference in Las Vegas. I don’t expect the seminar to be free, but after a short amount of time talking to their staff I realized they really put the hard sell on you. They nearly ran me over and pulled the credit card out of my wallet. Personally, I don’t like the pressure sales tactics that so many companies use and I was out of there. Phew!

Anywho, training agents is an important part of what we do at Incredible Agent. Many times it does end up being a session on business rather than a session on how to be an Incredible Agent. I just want to make sure our trainings don’t end up turning into a “By Referral Only” seminar.

They were charging our audience $398 to attend their “main event”. I don’t know why such a huge difference…maybe they didn’t get anyone to sign up from Scottsdale, and thought they better drop the price!

MyAvatars 0.2 Mike Says:

Don’t know if you all heard…..rumor has it that the doors of this company will be closing soon, they are in the process of laying off 50% of their staff and rumor has it they are going to file BK, better run and fast. This company is going down in flames fast…that CFO gone CEO has run that place into the ground, employees who have not been let go are looking, so good luck getting your coach on the phone when you call

Hi Mike, It makes us wonder about your integrity when you post anonymously. None the less the truth is 8 employees were involved in a reduction in departments where we have improved efficiencies and had extra capacity. Since it appears that you are unfamiliar with our community and really are misinformed I would like to be sure to set the record straight. We have over 100 employees here at our Carlsbad offices. The parking lot is full. You said, “you might want to think about finding another outlet, wait times to get a live coach are going to be something to see….” You obviously know nothing about our service commitment to our members. Our coaches are assigned to members and the coaching calls are prescheduled. There is no wait time. It’s a prescheduled call. Maybe Mike is talking about another company that uses a “call in” line where the members have to wait. Maybe that’s the company that just got cut in half. Not over here. I work over here with Joe at By Referral Only and we aren’t going anywhere. 23 years in business producing bankable results for our members. Come and meet some of our BRO members in todays market getting bankable results and commission checks with our systems and coaching. http://www.youtube.com/byreferralonly

The investment to attend the 3- day Main Event is $398, always has been, and over 800 agents were at the Main Event in Las Vegas maybe next time you will make it.

MyAvatars 0.2 Randy Wilson Says:

I just got back from the Main Event conference in Dallas.

I have been in business for 18 years, this is by far the most complete set of tools in one place that I have ever seen.

I don’t know what your talking about Damon if you could build a company 1/2 as successful as Joe Stumpf has, you might make it. I know one thing for sure is, you don’t get successful knocking others like you do.

As a very successful agent I have looked at your stuff and you have a long way to young fellow.

Randy

MyAvatars 0.2 Kari Says:

I have found By Referral Only to be grossly overpriced for the service provided. The coaching is a joke, there is no real advice it’s just basically someone keeping a list and checking off whether you’ve completed items on it. There are much better and cheaper ways to keep lists.

MyAvatars 0.2 Juanita Zuniga Says:

Now I’m concerned. Is BRO a stable organization or not?

MyAvatars 0.2 Len Rinconni Says:

Kari,

I have been a member for 5 years, the fee is $199 a month, and it is by far the best value ever, My father once said to me, ” Len if you fail at any thing it is easier to blame others” he taught me instead of blame take responsibility….Kari the 30 Day Lead Blitz, the Magic Words Dojo, the 30/30 Program, the Get Listings, Get Buyers Program has netted me $278,000 - BRO is a great program.

Joe

MyAvatars 0.2 Terry Thomas Says:

I have been a member of BRO for 16 months and it is the BEST investment any agent or lender will make in themselves or business. BRO has been in business for 23 years longer then any other training or coaching company - in 2008 I had my best year every doing 49 sides - the short sales training alone was worth the $199 a month…..

MyAvatars 0.2 Susan Jordan Says:

Kari,

Are you the same person at Remax In Kansas, because you told me it was a great program that you just didn’t work it…Kari tell the truth you have been in five coaching programs and they all failed you - you know Referral Only is awesome program….your just a below average student with a chip on your shoulder….

Susan

PS - kari you have my number call me…
